Harp Gear harmonica amplifiers for
harp amp players. ***

Happy Halloween!! This
week I have been working with a Lone Wolf Delay Pedal from
my friend Randy over at Lone Wolf. I've compared it to the Ibanez
AD-9, and
the Boss DM-2 Pedal which are pedals I've used in the past to add a
little delay. On Randy's site he says, "This is a digital
delay that has has all of the warmth of an analog delay and then some."
That's something I have heard from other companies who make digital
pedals. I am happy to report that it does sound as good as the
analog
pedals I have played if not better. I spent a lot of time playing
pedal against pedal and trying a lot of different settings. This
pedal
will give a variety of sound and offers you up to 300ms of delay which
should be enough for anyone.
There
is no tone suck with any of my mics as the pedal is designed to be used
with harp mics. It's not a pedal you are going to get only to
void the
warranty by modifiying it to work with mics properly. It is set
and
ready to go. It's pretty much a no frills product that is going
to get
the job done and done well.
It is built like a tank and should stand up to all the rigors of the
road. In the end I like the Lone Wolf Delay best out of the
pedals
have used for adding delay or reverb. It's going to be my new
recommendation when people ask me what pedal I prefer to make my sound
a little wetter. I like the pedal enough that I am going to start
bringing it out with me on the road to demo with my amps. To me,
that
is the highest endorsement I can give of a product. I want my
amps to
sound their best when people demo them. I feel comfortable with
how
this pedal will make my amps sound when people ask to try the amp with
delay. I know it won't take anything away from the amp and it
will
just enhance an already great tone. You can contact Randy via emailor through his site if you have any other
questions. If you want to ask me anything about my experiences with the
pedal or about my amps please
feel free to email me.

If you or anyone is looking for a good amp very reaonably priced, I
have a NIB Epiphone Valve Jr combo I
retubed with cryo treated JJ / Tesla tubes and put a Weber 8F100
speaker in. It was originally done for someone but they had
problems so it is just sitting here in the box now waiting for a good
home. I am selling it for $200 plus shipping to your area.
These are great amps with good tone. The speaker and retube
really helped it out and I can't imagine a better bang for the
buck. Just a thought. If
you have any other questions please feel free
to call or email.

I
am back
from Rockers
in the
Rockiesand
it was a great time! Jason had a solid teaching staff that was
second
to none. I really enjoyed seeing all the familiar faces and the
new
faces. There is word that Magic Dick might teach at the next
Rockers.
If you didn't make this one keep your eye out for the next
one.
Jason's CD Rocket 9 was just released and I want to wish them the best
on it. On another note, Dennis Gruenling will be here
in Ocala on
November 6th at Tin Cup Tavern. He will be conducting a short
seminar
from 5:30-7:30 followed by a show directly afterwards. You can
pre-register for the class here at
Dennis' site. If you have any other questions please feel free to

I
just got back from spending a few days with Jason Ricci while he was on
the road in FL. It was the first time I got to see Jason and the
guys at a festival through a wall of speakers and man was the sound
huge. They played at the Beach Shack also and that venue is
awesome. It is right on the beach with a cool breeze blowing
through it the whole time. That coupled with being able to hear
great music made for a perfect night for my wife and me. I really
want to thank him and all the guys for the hospitality and good
company. His new album Rocket
9 is available through Delta
Groove's website now. If you follow the Delta
Groove link you can hear one of the full songs from the album with
the page.
Also it still isn't
too late to sign up for the Rockers
in the
Rockiesif
you decide you want to go.
I'd love to see you there. Let
me know if you have any questions about the event or the amps.

I've
been busy this week learning some of my favorite Rock Bottom
songs. He
is one of my favorite harp players and unfortunately like a lot of the
greats he is no longer with us. I run into a lot of players who
aren't
familiar with him. If you would like to read more about him click
here. He left us with some great music and a lot of
laughs. You can buy his albums at God's Barnyard.
The proceeds benefit his widow Maureen. The CD "Snake Dancin'
Through
God's Barnyard" is a best of and really captures the heart of his
music. It still isn't
too late to sign up for the Rockers
in the
Rockiesif
you decide you want to go.
I'd love to see you there. Let
me know if you have any questions about the event or the amps.

I
am still getting ready for Jason
Ricci's
Rockers in the Rockies Harmonica Weekend
event and I decided to have a little fun last night and put together an
HG2 with a 10" P10R alnico special design Jensen speaker.
It came out
really good. I just happened to have a baffle for my cabinets
that
took a 10" speaker and even though I love the 8" speaker I really like
the tone of the 10" too. It looks just like the HG2 under amps but has
the 10" speaker. Same cabinet dimension. I am going to sell
this one
for the same price as my normal HG2 so it'll be a little bit of a deal
for whoever gets it. It'll also be a one of a kind because of the
10"
speaker. If no one buys it before I head ot the Rockers I'll have
it
there with me. It still isn't too late to sign up for the Rockers
in the
Rockiesif
you decide you want to go.
I'd love to see you there. Let
me know if you have any questions about the event or the amps.

asked about pictures of the Kalamazoo I described below you can click here for a gallery of pictures
of the Kalamzoo Model 1.
***
10/04/07 *** From time to
time I recondition older amps and resell them. I have a Kalamazoo
model 1 that came in with a damaged press board baffle. I had a
new
baltic birch baffle made for the amp and replaced the Jensen that was
in it with a stock alnico Kalamazoo speaker that was in perfect
condition. It has had a complete cap job and is modded for
harp. All
original transformers and great Kalamazoo tone. The amp is in
excellent condition and comes with a padded designed to fit
cover. I
am selling it with the cover for $325 plus shipping. If you are
interested let me know and
I will get some pics your way.

10/01/07 *** Sorry
I've been away from the news for about a week but I am getting
amps out the door and working on my chops. I have been working
hard on James Cotton's The Creeper this week and I came across a
YouTube video of him performing it. YouTube has given us gems
never before thought possible. I really want to thank all the
people who take the time to share these pieces of history. I am
going to embed the video below for anyone interested. On another
note, I have an new old style cabinet laying around that I paired with
an HG1
chassis and I am going to sell for $525. It is a brand new stock
HG1 but the cabinet is one of the older style cabs without the holes
cut in the upper backpanel. It does have the heavy leather handle
like the new cabs though. If you are interested please email me and let me know.
Now on with the show!
